44-Year-Old Man Assaults Nursing Home Resident
A man in Spartanburg County has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a nursing home in Upstate South Carolina. Forty-four-year-old Christopher Lachele Pilgrim has been arrested and charged with third-degree sexual assault and is currently being detained by authorities in a local jail, where he awaits trial.
According to reports, Pilgrim allegedly assaulted a woman at Magnolia Manor, a nursing home in Inman, between the hours of 1:30 and 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 8, 2018. The woman he sexually battered was a resident at the nursing home, and she was physically helpless and mentally incapacitated at the time of the assault.
The latest reports confirm that Pilgrim was not an employee at the facility, which creates questions about the safety measures in place at Magnolia Manor and whether residents are being adequately protected.
